Exactly 30 years ago, on December 3, 1989, the Maltese Summit took place and became the imaginary end of the Cold War and marked the sunset of the era.
Soviet people looked into the future with hope. Ahead of them were military clashes in Riga, Baku, Vilnius, also Croatian, Slovenian, South Ossetian, Tajik, Chechen wars, Moscow putsch, crisis and default, organized crime, the injustice of privatization and the complete collapse of all thoughts and ideas about life. They did not know about it yet.
90th will pass, but the understanding of what happened will come only after.
